RE: The good people of Sydney NS

I agree...thanks for the post. It's nice to hear the good things and to know that there are people who still take time to do their job well. And I also agree with Bumpy about the kitten comment...that was funny! Glen

RE: what's your favorite camping dinner??

Chicken thighs, marinated in teriyaki sauce, grilled, accompanied by pan-fried potatoes and a cold beer. Dang, I want to go camping! Glen

RE: What else can be done with turkey fryer pot?

I use the big pot and burner to brew beer. Lots of homebrewers have that as the basis of a beginning system. Much better beer than the Mega-Swill like MillBudoors. Glen

RE: Trail Ridge Rd, COLORADO?

As of Saturday night at 7pm mountain time, Trail Ridge road is closed due to adverse conditions (read "snow" here). Forcast is for much warmer over the next week, so it should be back open soon. Don't miss it if you have a chance! Welcome to Colorado! Glen

RE: Stupid Tourist Questions

My favorite Colorado tourist question was, "At what altitude do the deer turn into elk?" Glen

RE: Hwy 550 Ridgway, Co to Durango, CO.

It's certainly OK, if you're comfortable on narrow mountain roads. Semi-trucks travel the same route. It's not a road for those with a fear of heights, steep drop-offs, sharp curves, etc., but it's one of the most beautiful stretches of road in Colorado. Just keep your eyes on the road, your speed in check and you should be fine. Glen

RE: HELP!!!!!

I know he's on the Dark Side. That's why I suggested coming over 'from' the Dark Side! Can't wait to see the two Broncos has-been receivers (Lelie & Walker) stumble Monday night!

RE: HELP!!!!!

A buddy of mine had the same problems you've identified. The all around lube seemed to help him, as mentioned above. Your other problem (misplaced AFC West loyalties) can easily be cured by coming over from the dark side. Go BRONCOS!!! Glen

RE: The dreaded brown mound or pyramid...

Old guy, I think this is an inherited problem, rather than one he created. Sound advice, though...plenty of water. As to the original problem, Ice and a road trip seem to be the right avenue. Glen

RE: I need a new Bathtub....Which One is best?

I fixed my plastic tub with a fiberglass patch. Makes the bottom much stronger. Doesn't look as good, but it sure works well. Glen

RE: Crossing Safety Chains

I never cross my chains. My "chains" are actually a single chain that is attached in the middle behind the coupler. Crossing them would not change the ability of the chain to support the tongue weight in the event the hitch failed. Having them the right length, though, is pertty important. Glen

RE: Dog paws

Great idea on the snake protection...I'll have to talk to my vet about that...thanks for the idea. Glen

RE: Dog paws

Rabies and other annual shots, collar with tags, leash, longer chain for camping in a designated campground. Other than that, when possible, I let her run free, chasing squirrels, rabbits and butterflies when we boondock. Glen

RE: What is important when looking for a campground?

9 Level campsite-irrelevant to me...I boondock most of the time. 9 Easy to park-I park where the road ends. 9 Clean restrooms-Already have one on board...don't need another. 1 Great View-That's why I camp in Colorado 2 Lot of Space between campers-That's why I boondock 9 Price-That's why I boondock 9 Allows Pets-that's why I boondock 2 Fishing-Always nice to have that close by 9 50 amp Full Hookups-Never been there. Have a generator and I boondock. Don't need it! Happy Camping! Glen

RE: Carrying spare wheels

Good question about the extra spare for the TV. I only carry one of those, but in all the miles I've driven, I've never blown a tire on the TV, but I have blown 4 trailer tires. That's why I carry the extra tire/wheel for my TT. Glen

RE: Carrying spare wheels

I carry a second spare tire. Since I boondock much of the time, it's a bit of comfort to have that extra spare in case I were to lose a tire. It could be miles and hours away from the nearest tire store so I'd rather have the extra load than have to worry about where to find a replacement. Good luck! Glen

RE: Forks?

I'm all in favor of good practical jokes, but the house wrapping and RV wrapping concern me a little. I'd hate for someone to have to evacuate a house with either a carbon monoxide problem or have a fire break out and then they can't quickly exit either the house or the RV. I also see where wrapping an RV could cause either a build-up of CO or a fire if a vent were to be covered. Keep it safe! Glen

RE: Would you tow with this TV

I also have a Trailblazer, but due to it's fairly short wheelbase, I'd be very reluctant to tow something that long. My fullsize crew cab pickup even feels some wiggle with my 27' trailer. I can't imagine how much the tail would wag the dog when towing with the Trailblazer. Good luck! Glen
